Best Practices for International Shipping

Export Shipping Guidance

If shipping other vendor’s products to Hit for a kitting opportunity, we need the vendor’s information regarding each item. Required specifications:

  • Detailed product description including material composition and fiber % make up.
  • HTS code
  • Country of Origin
  • Sell price per product (sell prices must be broken out as individual prices - not the whole kit total price)
  • Tracking #’s to Hit’s facility. To who’s attention?
  • Is kitting required? Kitting fee?
  • Is decoration required? Artwork received?

Delivery addresses:

Delivery addresses must have an email address, phone #

Additionally, a tax ID is required for Brazil, China and the EU

Incoterms:

What are the terms of sale? Who is paying freight? Who is paying duty/tax?

In order to make this beneficial to Hit, these opportunities must ship on a Hit’s freight account. For single drop ships up to 5-7 lbs, Fed Ex FIC will be used. For larger shipments, UPS will be used.

Transit times vary by service level and destination – speak to Logistics for your particular destination country.

Freight will be billed along with the products. Duty/tax invoices often are received later. Clients should be prepared to receive a later supplemental invoice for duty/tax.

Areas of caution:

Customs clearance to Brazil is a lengthy difficult process. The importer must be prepared to be interactive with customs clearance.

Apparel and textiles destined to India are best sourced for locally through our Indian agent.

Drinkware, electronics and toys are restricted in the EU. It is best to avoid these categories.

FDA products, sunscreen, hand sanitizer are not suitable for export to any country.
